By acquiring outdoor advertising companies VVR (Berlin) and Georg Zacharias GmbH (Düsseldorf), Wall AG significantly strengthens its market position and becomes a full-line-distributor of products and services. An exclusive supplier of advertising spaces on means of transportation, VRR markets advertising spaces on about 3.400 vehicles of Berlin's public transports network, the biggest in Europe. Its portfolio of products is completed by lamp-post mounted advertising displays, banners for bridges, advertising spaces on stairs and about 3.000 advertising pillars.
After a successful competition Wall AG secures the marketing rights for City Light Boards on the premises of Düsseldorf International Airport, thus extending a cooperation in the marketing of classical outdoor advertising displays which exists since 2003. Ten City Light Boards (Design: IONDESIGN) are installed at the Terminals and at the Business park Airport City.
In both cities, Wall AG installs the free city information portal www.bluespot.de. To citizens as well as tourists the multimedia terminals offer a wide range of communication facilities like e-mail and internet access. City information can also be downloaded to a mobile phone.
In the summer, the human dream of travelling through time becomes reality in Berlin. At the illustrious Schlossplatz and at the Zitadelle Spandau, Wall AG sets up its new product timescope, a high-tech telescope which has been developed in cooperation with Art + Com. The sophisticated navigation tool makes it possible to compare a live picture with various historical views of a site.
In presence of Mayor Klaus Wowereit, the most advanced WC-centre of the capital is inaugurated at Alexanderplatz, one of Berlin's central transportation hubs. The refurbishment and modernising of the subterranean premises is valued at about 750.000 €. The centre is suitable for wheelchairs and offers all conveniences to its visitors.
In cooperation with Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR) and the districts Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf and Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Wall AG introduces Dog Service, a system for the easy and hygienic disposal of canine excrements. Putting in practice the motto "Towards a clean Berlin", Wall AG's Dog Service makes a substantial contribution to a dirt-free capital. Conducting a one year pilot project, the company installs about 50 Dog Service Stations in streets and public places. Free of charge the stations provide environmental-friendly paper-bags which, by their special folding design, allow easy scooping and immediate disposal of dog-waste.
With effect from January 1st 2007 Daniel Wall is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Wall AG, while the company's founder Hans Wall takes over the chairmanship of the board of directors. Working with the company since 1984, Daniel Wall established Wall AG's production plant in Velten and has managed its production and development units. As Wall AG's executive director of sales and marketing he has since 1999 been in charge of the marketing of poster advertising spaces.
Subsidiary Wall Egypt is set up.
