Beacons in the cityscape – by the end of the year 200 classical advertising pillars marketed by Wall AG will be fitted with power-saving, patent-registered illuminated crowns. Today, to the amazement of numerous passers-by, the advertising pillar at Karl-Marx-Allee/Schillingstraße-Underground-Station was, with the help of a truck crane, equipped with a new top. The patent-registered construction has an extremely low power consumption of 35 watts only, saving 85% compared to standard illumination, while lighting the pillar evenly from top to bottom.
The main feature of the new pillar capital is a central light source, fitted in the roof, and surrounded by a highly efficient system of reflectors. The patented illuminated crown was developed in Wall AG’s own production plant. By night, it ensures maximum visibility for advertising posters, including those on the lower part of the pillar.
„With our intelligent illumination, the traditional advertising pillar turns out one of the most attractive outdoor advertising media in the city. It particularly meets the demands of advertisers with a small budget, providing a low-cost, 24 hours exposure.” Daniel Wall, Chief Executive Officer of Wall AG, explains. “In addition, the sophisticated technology helps to reduce energy consumption and costs.”
In Berlin, where the „Announcement-Pillar“ of Ernst Litfaß once put an end to the era of „lawless” bill posting, Wall AG runs the largest network of advertising pillars world-wide, consisting of about 3.000 pillars. The current refurbishment not only inaugurates the renaissance of the advertising pillar as an advertising medium, but with the patent registered illuminated crown, pillars become optical highlights in the cityscape. In addition, Wall AG looks forward to bringing the advertising pillar ‘online’, by connecting it to digital and dialogic media like internet, mobile-phone and bluespot. In the future, users will be able to download additional information and content at advertising pillars directly to their mobile phones.
