International street furniture provider and outdoor advertiser Wall AG is awarded the universal design consumer favorite 09 seal for its product line Avenue (design: Staubach + Kuckertz, Berlin). The presentation of the award was part of the special exhibition "design: driving innovation" at this year's CeBIT in Hannover.
The street furniture family Avenue is distinguished by its clear and timeless design, high quality materials, and high technical standards. Its transparency, lightness, and sophistication unite the lifestyle of modern cities and metropolises with the functionality of state-of-the-art street furniture. Homogenous surfaces add clear, calm, and modern accents to the urban space. Avenue's micro-architectures, including a bus stop or tramway shelter, a wheelchair accessible City-Toilet, a kiosk, and a city information panel, combine both optical presence and discretion. Their powder-coated steel components permit individual colouring in harmony with the cityscape.
"Functionality and quality of our products are a matter of course. It is our aim to capture the lifestyle of modern cities and to transfer it into individual, made-to-measure design. We are happy and proud to receive this award which further encourages our successful cooperation with renowned architects and designers." Daniel Wall, Chief Executive Officer of Wall AG points out.
In 2009, the universal design award was for the second time organised in cooperation with International Design Forum iF. A distinctive feature of the award is the inclusion of significant user groups. Contributions were assessed by means of a representative sampling of 100 test subjects. The winners of the universal design consumer favourite 09 were decided according to a point system and enjoyed an approval rating of 75 per cent.
