Mobile city Information for on-the-go users: With the new bluespot app, website and info-terminal, street furniture specialist and outdoor advertiser Wall AG provides comprehensive city information to cities, citizens and tourists. First introduced in 2005, bluespot has been relaunched with a new design and numerous new features. Daniel Wall, Chief Executive Officer of Wall AG, presented the new bluespot portfolio today at Wall AG's headquarters in Berlin.
According to industry association Bitkom , every third German is currently using a smartphone. Citizens on the move in an urban environment or tourists exploring a city need quick and easy mobile access to city information. With the new city info-app bluespot, city information for Wall's partner cities Berlin, Dortmund, Duesseldorf, Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Muenster and Potsdam is, for the first time, covered by one app. The bluespot app knows the best places, tours and events about town. It offers numerous features which help to discover and experience a city: for example, an integrated public transport journey planner, a cab caller, a list of bicycle rentals and a City-Toilet finder. After download, all city information is also available offline. The bluespot app is available free of charge in German and English for iOS and Android from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. In addition to the app, the new bluespot content can be accessed via the bluespot terminals in bus and tram waiting shelters or via the website www.bluespot.de.
Daniel Wall, Chief Executive Officer of Wall AG: "We see ourselves as a partner for cities and for people. Thus, when improving bluespot, we attached particular importance to a close cooperation with cities and tourist boards. As a result, the new bluespot app contains specific features and services for each bluespot city. Furthermore, our street furniture and the new bluespot app provide an option for free WiFi in the public space."
bluespot was relaunched in close collaboration between Wall AG and the cities of Berlin, Dortmund, Duesseldorf, Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Muenster and Potsdam. As a result, bluespot contains numerous city specific features which ideally fit in with the mobile everyday life of citizens and tourists, as for example the "GreenCity" tours in Freiburg, a sportsbar and pub finder in Dortmund or a QR code reader for public transport in Berlin.
