In the city centre of Turkish metropolis Konya, the installation of Wall AG's street furniture and outdoor advertising displays has begun. The Istanbul based Turkish subsidiary of international street furniture provider and outdoor advertiser Wall AG, Wall Sehir Dizayni ve Ticaret Ltd.Sti, has set up the first bus stop shelters of design line Avenue, interactive information terminals, bulletin boards, as well as City Light Boards and LED-boards. Until 2010, Wall-Group will invest around 8 m. euro in state of the art street furniture and advertising displays to be set up in Turkey's seventh biggest city. Part of the products will come from Wall AG's company owned production plant at Velten in Brandenburg.
Thoroughly putting into effect its quality strategy, Wall Turkey has opened a Konya branch office with 14 employees. By means of well trained service teams and a tight network of offices and sales- and service-points, Wall ensures high quality standards regarding the cleaning and maintenance of street furniture and advertising units, as well as the marketing of advertising spaces. This year, Wall-Group markets around 2,100 advertising spaces in Konya. A Konya-based sales team is in charge of the local marketing of advertising spaces in the city, while Wall's Turkish headquarters in Istanbul coordinate their marketing on a national scale.
By increasing net sales from TRY 6.1 m. to TRY 6.4 m., Wall Turkey has achieved a sales growth of 4.4% compared to the previous year and is continually strengthening its position in the Turkish market. Wall's strong performance has been due to the excellent start of sales in Konya, the successful integration of Era Outdoor, as well as a result oriented sales initiative. With the opening of a new state-of-the-art marketing centre in Istanbul by June 2009, Wall Turkey will continue its successful sales initiative.
"Today, Wall Turkey is number two in the country's outdoor advertising market. With our presence in Istanbul, in numerous cities on the Aegean coast, like for example Bodrum, and now in Konya, we have a strong position in the Turkish market." Daniel Wall, Chief Executive Officer of Wall AG explains. "This is clearly indicated by the current sales results of our Turkish subsidiary. In spite of the financial and economic crisis, we did achieve a significant sales growth in the first quarter of 2009." The development of sales has clearly surpassed expectations. First figures for the second quarter show a continuation of this trend, and give reason to expect further growth.
